—Garrett Fox, Ent Credit Union Mortgage Business Analyst
Serving Colorado for more than 65 years—and recently named the official banking partner of the Denver Broncos—Ent Credit Union differentiates itself with a people-first approach to banking and mortgage. Today, Ent offers its members a wide array of financial products, from banking tools to refis and HELOCs. Across its offerings, Ent strives to create a personalized experience for its members, providing numerous physical locations within the locales it serves.
“We’re very committed to our local communities,” says Garrett Fox, Mortgage Business Analyst at Ent. “Anyone looking for a home loan, refinance, or other financial service can visit one of our more than 55 service centers for dedicated, in-person service and support.”
A need for actionable data
Before finding Maxwell, Ent had a growing need for fast, reliable access to data. As the business expanded to serve over half a million members, Ent team members increasingly required reports to learn where they were excelling, how they could improve, and areas of opportunity. They needed easy-to-digest data with real-time insights to drive seamless back-office operations and to ensure loan products continued to meet their communities’ needs.
“Previous to Maxwell Business Intelligence, our reporting was more involved,” recalls Garrett. “Our process required Encompass reports to be extracted and analyzed by individual supervisors. We lacked historical data showing how performance was trending—what we were doing right and what we could improve upon. We knew we needed something better: easily accessible, comprehensive reports to make data-informed decisions that would benefit our team and our members.”
Easy-to-access reports to drive data-backed decisions
After vetting data solutions, Ent decided to partner with Maxwell, leveraging its Business Intelligence solution to access key performance data on metrics such as pull-through, turn time, and production units for various loan events, along with reports on loan volume, applications, pipeline, and more. Business Intelligence gave the Ent team the in-depth analyses it needed while eliminating the hassle associated with pulling individual datasets.
“It’s taken a lot off my plate,” says Garrett. “Instead of going into Encompass, running a report, exporting it to Excel, pivoting that, and reviewing it, I’m able to go into Maxwell and see what I need within one or two clicks. Maxwell Business Intelligence saves our entire team a lot of time, helping us all be more efficient.”
Beyond simply removing tedious tasks, Business Intelligence also empowers the Ent team to gain game-changing insights they previously lacked. For instance, the solution drills down by loan-level data and allows users to create specific views and easily save those views to revisit later. Features such as AskMax, an AI-driven data concierge that offers instant answers to loan-related questions, make access to insights even more straightforward.
“Maxwell Business Intelligence reports offer analysis we’d never had before,” Garrett explains. “For instance, I’m now able to easily see how many times a loan has been touched in any period of time. In another example, I can now go in, create filters, and run various reports in exactly the views and ranges that are important to my job.”
A partnership based on transparency
Since leveraging the Business Intelligence solution, Ent has not only freed its team up to pursue higher value work, but it has also gained a partner deeply invested in its success. Garrett and other stakeholders at Ent routinely meet with Maxwell leaders to discuss how Business Intelligence is benefiting the lending process and areas that could be better attuned to Ent’s needs.
“Maxwell leadership is very open to ideas we have,” comments Garrett. “We have a transparent relationship: Maxwell will tell us if what we propose is feasible or not, and they’ll suggest areas of improvement that could directly benefit our team. We’ve seen improvements to the Business Intelligence solution because of our direct feedback, and it’s been a great experience to be able to shape the growth of the product.”
As Ent continues to expand its reach, furthering its commitment to Colorado’s communities, it plans to continue leaning into the partnership and insights that have helped optimize its business.
“Maxwell has helped us streamline our operations in a whole new way,” Garrett says. “We’re excited to pursue our next chapter of growth with Business Intelligence driving our efficiency.”
